RTD (and later Moffat) had planned everything since day one. All of it. The Timelords returning, the TARDIS explosion, the time war, the Silence. All. Of. It. When Moffat took over, he took over the very story arcs RTD (and possibly Classic Who writers before him?) had worked on and he made them his own. It is the most remarkable collaboration and I have never seen anything like it. Well done, guys, well done!
